Assistance for families affected by Wild Fires


1.       Red Cross still has a shelter at the Slaughterville Baptist Church located at the interseciton Highway 77 and 60th Ave.  (One mile north of Slaughterville).  They are assisting families who need shelter, clothing, food, medical attention and counseling. They are not accepting donations at that location.  The main number for those seeking to contact Red Cross is the Regional Office at (405) 228-9500.  A Multiple Agency Service Center has been set up at Twelve Corners Baptist Church, 15601 E. Etowah Rd. to handle the needs of those in Slaughterville, Noble and Norman.  It will be open for the remainder of the week from 8AM to 8PM

2.       The Baptist Disaster Relief will be in the Noble area in a couple of weeks to assist in the cleanup.  Those wishing to sign up for assistance may do so at the Maguire Baptist Church, 9801 Maguire Rd. from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

3.        Those wishing to donate may contact the following sites

A. Clothing: Do not take anyting to Red Cross.  The Noble Church of Christ at 125 N. Main Street has drop off bins for clothing, toys and dishes.  New Beginnings at Hwy 77 and Post Oak Rd. will distribute clothing, toiletries, and new baby items and clothes.

B. Furniture:  The Maguire Farm Store, located at the intersection of Maguire Rd and 96th Ave.  is accepting usable furniture, pots and pans.  No couches or recliners at this time.  No mattresses or clothing.  Dressers aand chest of drawers needed.

C. Donate a Miracle is accepting some items at 1104 24th Ave in Norman.  701-5300

D. Christmas Connection in OKC is accepting Donations.
