New K-9 Officer

Officer Lesher of the Noble Police Department has taken over in the role of the K-9 Officer for the City of Noble.  Our Canine, Longo, has been with the department since 2006. Officer Lesher and Longo went thru an 80 hour training course put on by Canines Unlimited in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The Canines Unlimited Academy is a CLEET recognized training course.  Officer Lesher has the OBNDD and DEA licenses to utilize narcotics as training aids for Longo to ensure that Longo surpasses his yearly recertification.

Since taking over as the K-9 Officer, Officer Lesher has utilized Longo for many surprise visits to the Noble Public Schools, as well as taking him out to check over vehicles on traffic stops.  Longo is also a tracking dog and has successfully tracked down numerous criminals attempting to flee from Officers.

Recently, Officer Lesher applied for a grant that would provide a ballistic vest for our K-9 Longo. The vest would be provided free of charge courtesy of Vested Interest in K9s, which provides ballistic vests for law enforcement canines all over the country. Vested Interest in K9s announced that Longo would be one of many K-9s receiving a ballistic vest.
