News from Noble City Hall

From City Manager Bob Wade

The City is Planning our Spring Cleanup for Bulky Waste.  We are not announcing the dates yet, but we will in the next edition.  You might check the city’s website at for details.  Please be on notice that we are not accepting tree trimmings.   You may use our landfill area at no charge by picking up a key at City Hall during regular business hours.

The City, the Chamber of Commerce and Noble Now have scheduled to participate in the Oklahoma University Big Event again.  We will host a large group of university volunteers to help clean up the city and all three of our large parks.  Please consider helping from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday April 9th.  We usually conclude with a lunch at Riley Park Pavilion.  It is a good cause.

A big thank you to scout Conner Bryant who constructed the new Pergola at Dane Park.  The new structure will provide a shady area next to the Splash pad.   This project was Conner’s Eagle Scout project and he will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at a ceremony at Dane Park on March 5th.  Congratulations Conner.  (See the attached photo of Conner standing in front of the new pergola).

A big thanks to the Noble Fire Department for doing most of the labor to construct a garage that extends from the east wall of Station No. 1.  We are creating garage space for three brush rigs to free up space in the main garage for our new tanker truck and fire engine which we will receive soon.   With the firemen’s help we will be able to construct this garage for approximately $20,000.  (See the attached photo of the work in progress).

The garage is considered a short term solution at Station No. 1.  We will begin planning for a new fire station at that location.  Hopefully we will be able to approach the city council with a plan in the next two years.   The old station is way beyond its useful life.

The Noble Park Commission recently met with Karla Lahman, a local Noble business person, and listened to a presentation for organizing and locating a Dog Park in Noble.  The Park Commission conducted a walk through at the upper area of Riley Park located at 1400 N. Main to see if this might be a possible location.  Karla is asking for interested persons to contact her for possible formation of a Dog Park Association.  Please call City Hall if you want her contact information (872-9251).

We are continuing to announce the email alert system that has been organized for anyone who wishes to be informed of a local emergency.  Simply go to Noble’s website… and on the home page you will be prompted to give your email address.  We are not asking for names, addresses or any other contact information.   Then indicate if you want Alerts, and/ or News.
