Noble Gets Prescription Drug Drop-Off Box

The City of Noble, in partnership with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN), has set up a permanent drop box for safely disposing of prescription drugs.  The drop-off box is located in the front lobby of the Noble Police Department.  Chief Springstead strongly encourages all citizens to bring in any old, out of date medications.  The drop-box is for prescription pills, it is not for syringes, liquids, chemicals, or inhalers.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics is working with Police and Sheriff's Departments in all 77 counties to establish permanent locations for the containers.  Mark Woodward, OBN Spokesman, says it will allow the public to dispose of old medications year-round rather than wait for an official drug take-back day in their community.  OBN Director Darrell Weaver says the drug drop containers are vital for preventing the potenial disasters caused by keeping unnecessary medications in the home.
