Noble Police Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks

Noble Police Department in conjunction with the Noble Campus Police recently conducted an alcohol compliance check using an underage minor to purchase alcoholic beverages from local merchants that sell beer and or alcohol.  These compliance checks help to ensure that these establishments do not sell alcohol to persons under 21 years of age.  They also help reduce alcohol-related problems and crime by using a problem oriented approach to policing.

The compliance checks were held at seven locations inside of Noble City Limits.  Those seven establishments that sell beer and or alcohol were targeted for compliance.  Only one location was found to be in violation.  Terry’s Market located at 503 Maquire Rd. allowed for the purchase of beer to take place without asking for proper ID.  The clerk that sold the alcoholic substance was cited for the violation that may result in a fine in Municipal Court.

The Noble Police Department appreciates the businesses and their employee’s that were in compliance with the law.  With their efforts we can work together to make Noble a community where under age youth do not have access to alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.  Controlling youth access to these age restricted substances sends an important message to Noble’s youth and businesses that illegal sales will not be tolerated.
