AMBULANCE BOND ISSUE APPROVED BY VOTERS

The Noble voters approved a proposed EMS Bond Issue in the amount of $445,000 on January 12th, 2016.  The official vote count was 187 Yes and 25 No.   We are again, very appreciative of the Noble voters who support our EMS Service.  We now will be able to purchase two new ambulances and other critical equipment such as new difibulators.   This will be a very small tax (3 mills total).  And a reminder that this tax replaces the one that just paid off.  So basically we are renewing the tax not increasing it.  Thanks again.

ALERT NOTICE OFFERED

So far our response to the request for Alert Notices is very encouraging.  In case you haven’t heard, the City is looking into ways to keep the public informed, especially when we have an emergency.  We have recently set up an email alert system for anyone who wishes to be informed of a local emergency.  Simply go to Noble’s website…cityofnoble.org and on the home page you will be prompted to give your email address.  We are not asking for names, addresses or any other contact information.   Then indicate if you want Alerts, and/ or News.   We will soon be reworking our website, to make it more user friendly, so stay tuned.

HEALTHY HEARTS HEALTH FAIR

The City of Noble participates with the Noble Healthy Partnership and the Noble Community Coalition to promote healthy lifestyles.  The Noble Heathy Partnership meets on the 2nd Wednesday each month from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Noble Public Library.  Everyone is invited.  This month the NHP is hosting a Healthy Hearts Health Fair at the Commons Area at Noble HS. On Saturday February 13th from 10AM to 1 PM.  There will be health screening by medical experts, many other activities and prizes.  This should be fun.

GROUPS WORKING ON LOCAL PROJECTS

Some of Noble’s volunteer groups have been working on ways to improve the Community Gardens at Dane Park and enhancing the Farmers Market located at City Hall.  If you want to be a part of these efforts we will soon be getting out some notices.  We are nearing Spring and we will be again sponsoring a Big Event to clean up our parks and streets.  Why don’t you plan to help us this year.

Next time you go by Dane Park on S. 8th Street check out the new Pergola near the Splash Pad and the new restrooms.  The City will be resurfacing the Splash pad this Spring and it should be better than ever.
