News from Noble City Hall

From City Manager Bob Wade

The City of Noble owns the Senior Citizen’s Center which is a very old structure located at 600 E. Maguire Rd., on the SE Corner of Maguire and Main St.  The City has responsibility for maintaining the structure, providing insurance, utilities, and a vehicle (van) for transportation.  Recently the city remodeled the kitchen area with new cabinets and countertops.  We also put in new flooring.  In the next few weeks we will have new ceiling tiles installed for the entire building.  Three years ago we had a new roof installed, so the building should be dry and in decent shape.

The Senior Center is host to a nutrition program provided by Aging Services, Inc.  The programs includes Meals On Wheels (see the attached photo) and a daily lunch.  The Center is a social hub for those who come to play games, participate in music programs, ceramics and other activities. If you are new to the Noble area, you might want to check the Senior Center out.

This week, the City opened up the new restrooms at Dane Park.  The restrooms are open from 6 AM to 10 PM.  You can see from the attached photo, the new building from the view of the community garden and the new pergola.  The City has also replaced the dead trees near the splash pad.  We are working with Noble Now to re do the community garden pads.  We are replacing the old, wooden raised gardens with concrete blocks on a new concrete slab.  The surface of the splash pad has also been reworked and some of the water jets are being replaced.

We are continuing to announce the email alert system that has been organized for anyone who wishes to be informed of a local emergency.  Simply go to Noble’s website-- and on the home page you will be prompted to give your email address.  We are not asking for names, addresses or any other contact information.   Then indicate if you want Alerts, and/ or News.
