Severe Weather Season

It is that time of the year again Severe Weather Season, please read the first picture to get you, and your family prepared.

Strong to severe storms will be possible today, mainly from late afternoon through the evening. Damaging winds and hail are the primary threats, but tornadoes may also occur. The strongest storms are expected to develop near or just after noon over southwest Oklahoma and adjacent parts of Texas, then spread rapidly northeastward. Additional storm development is possible late evening and overnight over much of Oklahoma and north Texas but those storms will be less intense. A couple of rounds of heavy rainfall are expected late Monday and last into Tuesday night. On Monday evening/night, the heaviest rainfall will be roughly near the I-44 corridor from near and east of Lawton, northeast through the Oklahoma City Metro. The area of heaviest rainfall will shift southeast on late Monday night and on Tuesday, mainly affecting southeast Oklahoma.

Our entire district is currently under a Flood Watch until 7:00 AM tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, please remember to not drive into standing water as you don’t know how deep it is, “TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN”.
