Animal Control
Noble Animal Control works under the Noble Police Department. One animal control officer is employed who handles complaints and concerns from citizens and maintains the animal shelter. Animal Control can be reached by contacting the police department at (405) 872-9231 Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm. Any animal complaints, lost animals, found animals, animal concerns, etc. can be answered by the animal control officer. We do have an animal shelter where animals are kept. It is currently open to the public Tuesday – Saturday 9 am – 6 pm. We are currently in the process of having a new shelter being built. The new facility is much larger and better equipped, giving our animals more room to move and be comfortable.
Dogs and Cats
Animal Licenses
The City of Noble requires all dogs and cats to be licensed and tagged through Noble Animal Control. The license can be purchased at the Noble Police Department and includes a tag for each animal. The tag has a number assigned to your animal so animal control can quickly locate you in the event your animal is picked up by an officer.
Rabies Vaccinations
All dogs and cats are required by state law to be vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian. The veterinarian should provide the animal’s owner with a current rabies certificate and tag. The animal needs to wear this tag at all times along with their city tag. A rabies vaccination given by anyone other than a veterinarian is not recognized by local or state law. Any animal whose owner cannot provide acceptable proof of rabies vaccination will be considered unvaccinated.
Relinquishing Animals
Noble Animal Shelter takes animals owners cannot keep any longer for a fee. However, our animal control officer will make every attempt to help an owner find a way to keep their animal if he/she feels it’s in the animal’s best interest. There is no guarantee in any case that the animal will not be euthanized after coming to the shelter.
Animal Adoption
The Noble Animal Shelter frequently has animals available for adoption. Dogs, puppies, cats, & kittens that come into the shelter without tags or microchips are able to be put up for adoption or rescue 72 hours after arriving at the shelter if the owner doesn’t claim them. If an animal comes into the shelter with tags or a microchip, the animal control will attempt to contact the owner and give them 5 days to reclaim their animal before it is available for adoption or rescue. The adoption fee is $25.00 and there is a $50.00 spay/neuter deposit required if the animal is not already fixed. Oklahoma State Law requires all shelters adopting out have this deposit paid to cut down on unwanted animals. When the animal is altered, the $50 is fully refunded to the adopter (within 60 days). The City of Noble has begun vaccinating the animals that come into our shelter, dogs for rabies and distemper and cats for rabies and feline leukemia. The Noble Animal Control Officer encourages you to adopt from a shelter or rescue organization to help save the lives of animals and to discourage over breeding in our state.
Lost & Found
The city of Noble Animal Control keeps a roster of lost and found animals within the city of Noble and the surrounding area. If you have lost your pet, you can call and have it added to the roster. Our roster is a very effective tool in assisting the Animal Control Officer with returning animals to their rightful owners. When our Officer picks up a stray, one of the first things he does is check the roster for any animals that match the description of the animal. Of course, all dogs and cats should have a collar and have a city registration tag and rabies vacination tag. These allow the Animal Control Officer to look up the owner and get in contact with them to return the animal as soon as possible.
When calling to have your pet added to the roster, you will need to be able to give the Animal Control Officer or dispatcher the following information:
Date the animal was missing:
Animal’s Description;
Species, Breed, Color, Size, Gender
If the animal had a collar, what color and kind of material, and if it had tags or not
Your Name, Address and a good phone number
If you have called and had your animal placed on the roster and find your animal or have it returned to you by other parties, the Animal Control Officer greatly appreciates being advised so he can remove the animal from the roster.

Live Trapping
Noble Animal Control frequently deals with wild animal complaints and concerns. Once all efforts are done to ensure the same species will not return and stay in the area, live trapping of some species is available. In most cases all that is required is education about the animal such as the way it lives, what it eats, and the diseases humans can or cannot get from the animal. Often the problem can be resolved simply by removing a brush pile, removing cat food or dog food, or boarding up a hole. Our Animal Control Officer follows State Law when trapping and does not leave traps out on days he will not be available to check on the trap within 24 hours. If the Animal Control Officer sets a trap on your property, access to the trapping location can not be denied.
