Position Title: Part-Time Custodian

Department: City Hall / Noble Library

Hourly Wage: $15.84 per hour

Work Schedule: Part-time; hours may vary based on operational needs. Some evening or early morning hours may be required.

Position Summary

The City is seeking a reliable Part-Time Custodian with attention to detail to maintain and clean the City of Noble’s buildings and facilities, most notably City Hall and the Noble Public Library. This position is critical in keeping clean and well maintained public facilities for the Noble public and City personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, hallways, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and doors
  • Restock restroom and janitorial supplies as needed
  • Secure buildings after cleaning
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic janitorial methods, materials, and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Professional and courteous interaction with the public and City personnel

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior janitorial or custodial experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in environments involving cleaning chemicals and equipment

Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors in City facilities with occasional exposure to cleaning agents and equipment. Flexible scheduling may be necessary to perform cleaning outside of normal business hours.
